Your Law Practitioner Licensed In Illinois & Missouri
I am Kathy Smith, a law practitioner in Illinois & Missouri. I am the head of The Law Office of Katherine Smith. Before practicing law, I worked as a Systems Engineer at Boeing Corporation. I was responsible for integrating systems to ensure the world's largest aerospace manufacturer offered leading edge aircraft in a competitive industry. While working at Boeing, I embraced my passion for law and attended Saint Louis University School of Law
graduating in 1996.
Since graduating from Saint Louis University School of Law, I have handled a wide variety of civil matters. My most notable accomplishments include successfully arguing a case before the Supreme Court of Illinois as well as representing the developer of one of the largest industrial parks in the U.S., Gateway Commerce Center. I resolved a dispute between the developer and surrounding landowners paving the way for construction of the region's premier distribution and logistics center. Gateway Commerce Center created over 6,000 jobs and has an annual economic impact of over $1.3 billion.
I find great reward in working closely with my clients to arrive at satisfactory solutions. I am good at both complicated transactions as well as simple vital matters, such as helping families prepare Wills and Trusts.
I enjoy working with clients and prefer to erase the common belief that working with an attorney is stressful. My approach and etiquette in serving clients have resulted in my success and respect in the community.
I have successfully argued before the Supreme Court of Illinois and won many cases before federal and state courts throughout Illinois and Missouri.
I was elected to the Madison County Board and served on the Finance, Judiciary, Planning and Development, and Real Estate Tax Committees.
I am a member of the Illinois Bar, Missouri Bar and Madison County Bar Association and more.
